Cabin Fever

It is freezing (literally) in the midwest and the snow has piled up and is now several feet high on our back deck!
Since I already completed one of my new years resolutions to quit my job, I have a lot of time on my hands!! Hooray!
I actually resigned 3 months ago however I had to give 3 months notice so my last day at the office was Monday, and my new job does not start till next Tuesday. I was excited to have a week off and get so much accomplished. The weather showed me who is boss and without 4 wheel drive. and a husband at work, I am stuck at home and I have cabin fever. This is what I have been up to.. hold your excitement!

Thankful

I am thankful! Sometimes you just sit and I thank, "I am thankful!" Thankful for a husband who is caring, an amazing family, a crazy great group of friends and the 2 cutest dogs I know! For that, I am thankful!!!

Volunteering! Usually good....not so good today!

S0... my work wanted volunteers to sign up to work this local health fair today, a Saturday, my typical day off, however I am a sucker for volunteering and said "yes"! So I woke up early, today, put on my khakis and white tee as required and headed to the volunteering spot! I was told many people from my work would be there, and it would require me to work at the "future doctors and nurses" table which meant playing with kids, and this sounded good to me!! However, when I got there, there was not a soul that I knew (no one from my work came), it was pure chaos, and they put me at this table with no chairs to calculate peoples BMI (body, mass, index). Well let me tell you, who knew people in the Midwest LOVE to get there BMI checked, I mean LOVE it!! My table was by far the most popular with a long line, people were cutting in line to get there Body fat checked and some of them were SO rude! I am not kidding, I would start to do someones, and I would hear this voice,.. "um excuse me, I was here first, I WILL get my BMI done first." I was thinking, "what?", "this is a free event?" I am usually a huge believer in volunteering and helping out however today my experience was bad news!! I will not be volunteering at that event ever again, the search is one for a better way to make a difference!

Long Over due!

With the start of my new job, I lost time and sight of the blog! So 7 months since my last post I am back!
It seems not much as changed but yet so much has
1 Big Addition since my last post: My cutie pie Nephew E!! Who is a chunky Monkey!!
My wonderfully cute grandmother passed away and is no doubt smiling down from heaven
We were also able to spend time in DC, Nevis, Lake of the Ozarks and New York with friends and family!

My new obsession: Finding a mission trip to try to provide medical needs to others!! The search is on!
Step 1: Convince my husband/DONE!!!
Step 2: Find a trip that has a huge needs and tugs at my heartstrings... ummm basically all of them.... decision time!!!

Working Girl!

And now... that is what I am!! I work 4, 10 hour days at a crazy busy clinic here and it is going good so far. I am adjusting to joining the workforce again although is is quite a transition! Early (5 AM) mornings are now in order, however it is for the best! I am really liking it so far!! No new pics to post at this time but hopefully I will have some pics of a new niece/nephew to show off soon!! (My sis is due to deliver any day)!!! So exciting!! Hope all is well

So after two amazingly fast years of grad school... it is all over. It was great to have lots of family there for the big day!! Here are a couple pics.... Now for the new job: it starts Feb 2nd!! Woo hoo!!

Mom's Birthday Night

A few weeks ago, my Aunt, my sis and I surprised my Mom with Celine Dion tickets!! We were pumped and ready to go last week however Celine got sick and canceled here show!! Her real Birthday is in December but super close to Christmas so we decided to start the celebration early!
We switched it up and headed out for an awesome night of Dinner, Shopping, and late night laughing!! Happy Early Birthday Mom!!
Around 10:30 PM we wanted to grab some coffee so we went to Applebees and it was a Trip! Our service/coffee/shake was horrible however we laughed so hard we cried!
